AO3 Work Exclude Skin Generator

Pick what you would rather not see on Archive of Our Own, and this builds the CSS for a Site Skin that collapses those works out of your way. Filter by rating, category, Archive warning, and any freeform tag. Tag matching is case-insensitive and partial, so smut also hides Explicit Smut.

A filtered work does not vanish. It collapses to a small labelled placeholder saying why it was hidden, and expands again when you hover or tap it, so nothing is lost.

The skin is plain CSS. AO3 does not allow JavaScript in skins, so none is used. There is no account, no backend, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

How to use it

1. Tick the ratings, categories and Archive warnings you want hidden.
2. Add any freeform tags, comma separated.
3. Copy the generated CSS.
4. On AO3, create a new Site Skin, paste the CSS into the CSS box, leave Conditions on "add on to archive skin", and Submit.
5. Go to Dashboard, then Skins, and click Use on the skin you made.

Skins only apply while you are logged in to the AO3 account that owns them. AO3 uses one site skin at a time; if you already use one, either paste this CSS into it or add it as a parent skin.
